How much do I want to eat you? mmmm.
So the last blog was about what was going to happen this weekend.
My entire weekend was dedicated to making my friend’s bachelorette party as special as possible. I am one of her bridesmaids so I (along with the rest of the bridal party) wanted everything to turn out perfectly, which it did.
We stayed at the Affinia Shelburne, which is an absolutely amazing hotel. I was scared that I wasn’t going to be able to find a big enough suite or nice enough hotel that was within our budget. We were originally going to stay at the Affinia 50, but with taxes and split by a # of girls, it was way too much $. So I took a chance and went on Priceline, and put in a blind bid for a 3.5 star hotel for a certain price. And, we got lucky & ended with the Shelburne for a really affordable price per person. I was able to book two rooms, which housed 9 girls. Too bad that we didn’t have adjoining rooms, but we made the most of it.
We had dinner at Dos Caminos on Park Avenue. I’ve always been a big fan of Dos Caminos and their food. But my most favorite part of the menu is their white sangria. It’s so good that you can’t taste the alcohol/wine at all. If you’re going to go to Dos Camninos, definitely try that AND the guacamole. Second favorite part of the menu.
After dinner, we ended up back at the hotel to pregame and play some games. Then we “capped” off the night by going to D’Or & Amalia in the Dream Hotel. It was the last time D’Or would be known as that, so it was definitely a packed club with good beats and lots of people.
Here’s a couple of pictures.

So I know I’m all late for my Memorial Day weekend volume. But I’ll keep it short by showing pictures.
Can you guess where we went? 🙂
My weekend was power packed.
Friday, we spent locally celebrating/sending off my friend’s going away for a month. He’s lucky and heading off to Switzerland for work for a month. So we ate at Yutaka Hibachi & Steakhouse. I love Japanese food, and am always excited to try new Japanese restaurants. So many choices to choose from, but I managed to order shrimp & veggie tempura, spicy crunchy roll, and spicy mango lobster roll. I wasn’t prepared for how big the pieces would be. The pieces that I ate were delicious. I think my belly was too fully of sake and wine to take more food down. hehe.

Saturday was Mikey’s cousin’s daughter’s baptism. Although we made it at the tail end of the ceremony, we got to see her in her beautiful white dress. We then celebrated at a restaurant called Donovan’s Grill & Tavern. The party was held in the back party room. All in all a good day of fun, food, and family.
Beautiful baby girl
Then today brought a wedding shower celebration down in South Jersey for one of my good friends, Kim. Her and her fiance are getting married in just a little over 1 month, and I’m in their bridal party. One of the maid of honors made a cute little candy bar as a take away for all of the guests. It was super cute, and I loved it!

Overall busy weekend, but lots of fun. 🙂
This has always been a debate in our household – what our top favorite burger joints are.
Mine are the following:
So do you have a list of your favorite burger joints? Please do share!
These are my top 3 favorite ‘coffee shops’, if you can call them coffee shops.
I fell in love with the Coffee Bean during our West Coast trip. Now that we’re back East, I’m craving it like crazy!
Will always be my hands down East coast favorite. My absolute favorite flavor is Toasted Almond, which I could go for right now. Mmm.
Starbucks is yummy tasting, but sometimes too strong for my stomach. My fave Starbucks drink is Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Very good and not too sweet.
What are your top ‘coffee shops’?
This weekend brought celebrations.
Friday was my sister’s boyfriend’s birthday. We trekked to Confucius and Zeppelin Biergarten for his birthday. The second half of his birthday brought lots of love from his friends and family and entertainment from the birthday boy as well.
That evening I discovered my love for the below beer.
Oh hello beautiful. I love you so much!
I’m more of a beer drinker than I am a wine or hard alcohol drinker. I guess the Biergarten brought out my appreciation for beer more. My other faves are Coors Light and Miller Lite. I’ll also pretty much drink any kind of Sam Adams beer as well. Wish I had some Cherry Wheat in my fridge. But I’ll settle for Honey Brown for now.
Saturday, dear hubby and I went to Atlantic City primarily to get this cute Vera Bradley all in one wristlet promotion at Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. So eventually we got it after he played craps for over a hour. Shortly after he played and we picked up the wristlet, I decided to give it a try and play my hand at the penny slots. I’m a penny slots kind of girl. I used to be ‘baller’ back then and play quarter and nickel slots, but I’ve now become a happier penny slot player. All in all, after playing penny slots at Showboat Casino and Caesars Palace, this girl went home with $45 more in my pocket. Woot woot!
Sunday of course was Mother’s Day. Dad planned a nice lunch for my mom and our family. He invited family and family friends over, and had lunch catered by a new Filipino restaurant in northern Jersey. There was so much food, that we walked away with so much leftovers to last us a lifetime. Well not a lifetime, but for at least a few days. It was a good day, and Mama enjoyed the food, company, and gifts she received. 🙂 Happy mama’s day again to my mom! ❤
Next week’s Bits of My Weekend is going to a more interesting volume because it’ll be written while we’re on vacation. Yes, I’ll be a nerd and carry my laptop with me. 🙂
